ČEPS Code of Ethics

  • Employees are aware of the strategy and business objectives of the Company, are interested in the Company’s business objectives, and their individual goals are targeted towards the fulfilment of those objectives. Employees are fully aware of their shared responsibility for the Company’s results. 
  • Confidential information obtained in connection with their performance of work shall not be used by employees for their personal benefit even in cases that no harm would be suffered by the Company should they do so. 
  • Employees shall neither accept nor give financial donations. Employees may accept/give donations in kind only if such donations do not exceed reasonable business practice and are commensurate with the positions of the donor and the donee. 
  • Each employee shall contribute towards the good reputation of the Company and its positive perception in the market and in society as a whole. He/she shall be loyal towards the Company and make every effort to achieve and maintain high professional standards by making the maximum use of opportunities available for further education and professional and personal growth. 
  • Each employee is required to conduct negotiations on the Company’s behalf in accordance with generally applicable legal regulations, business practices and conditions generally respected in the international business environment. In addition, each employee shall be well acquainted with legislation and regulations pertaining to his/her work activities. In case of doubt he/she will contact his/her superior or the respective specialist department. Ignorance is no excuse for the consequences of the abuse of the rules. 
  • Each employee shall conduct negotiations in accordance with generally applicable legal regulations. 
  • No employee shall deliberately mislead other staff members, business partners, inspection authorities or the general public by making a false or misleading statement.
  • Communication with the media and stakeholders is the sole responsibility of the Communications Department. 
  • Each employee shall represent the Company to the standard required by adapting both his/her general demeanour and form of dress accordingly; the way in which employees dress should always correspond to the occasion. 
  • Each employee shall respect the difference between business and personal relations between colleagues and is required to fulfil the following principal conditions: mutual deference, goodwill and mutual respect including the protection of privacy, and understanding of the problems faced by other employees in their work.
  • Employees shall never allow unauthorised persons to use the Company’s technical means or enter the Company’s premises neither shall he/she allow access to internal information. 
  • If a relationship with a business partner exceeds the purely business context, the employee shall maintain the appropriate distance between the business and personal aspects of the relationship. In the event that a conflict of interest arises, the Company’s interests shall always take precedence.
  • The manager shall provide a good example to his/her colleagues, create a team environment and ensure the mutual flow of information between the management and subordinate personnel. 
  • Employees shall cooperate with each other and share information and experience relating to their work. 
  • Each employee shall follow ethical principles when formulating correspondence by letter, fax and e-mail and make their meaning clear and consistent so that such correspondence may be presented to a third party should it be required (e.g. an investigating authority, the courts or other state institutions). All correspondence must comply with the “ČEPS Graphic Manual”.
  • Offensive expressions of a racial, ethnic or other discriminatory nature shall not be tolerated within the Company. Employees shall avoid conduct constituting sexual harassment, and the principle of equal opportunities for all employees shall be respected. Employees shall refrain from alcohol and psychotropic substances before entering the Company’s premises and respect the ban of smoking in force throughout the Company’s indoor areas. 
  • Employees shall respect the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR). 
  • The Company and its employees shall respect and do their utmost to protect the environment in the course of their work activities with the aim of preserving it for the enjoyment of future generations.
