Damas Energy and Damas ePortal

Damas Energy is ČEPS’s trading technical system.

Damas Energy System (DaE) is ČEPS’s comprehensive information system for the management of electricity trading. The DaE is an internet-based system designed for the automation of commercial and technological processes within the Czech power system; it enables flexible communication of the Transmission System Operator with other market participants – electricity generators, domestic and foreign traders, wholesale consumers and ancillary services providers as well as efficient communication within ČEPS.. The DaE daily provides two-way data transfer and performs data processing and evaluation. The Damas Energy System also communicates with a number of other e-systems; in the Czech Republic, these primarily comprise the information system of the Electricity Market Operator, the control systems of the TSO National Control Centre, the ERP system, various metering systems etc.

Damas is ČEPS’s electronic trading portal.

This system enables, by means of a software application employing existing databases and network interconnection, a modern way of interactive communication between ČEPS and its individual trading partners. Since data is communicated via the Internet, ČEPS places great emphasis on ensuring data security. Rules for the use of individual functions of the Damas system are defined in the binding document “Damas ePortal Operation Rules”, latest version 4.10”.

Rules for practical use of all Damas modules are described in detail in the Damas User’s Documentation. The documentation consists of three parts relating to the respective sections of the ePortal:

  • Tendering procedure for long-term contracts;
  • Transmission services
  • Statistics

Rules for access to the Damas e-Portal and electronic communication through this portal are defined in ČEPS “Damas ePortal Operation Rules” – an integral part of the “Agreement on Accepting the General Terms and Conditions for Ancillary Services Purchase” and the“ Agreement on Accepting the Commercial Terms and Conditions for Cross-Border Electricity Transmission”. The Damas system currently provides the following data transfer and data processing:

  • Data relating to graphs of electricity transfers and evaluation of transmission services.

Open access to the Damas ePortal

Data on available transmission capacity (ATC) for each of ČEPS interconnectors offered in daily auctions can be found in the Damas ePortal section accessible to the public, under Overview of Daily ATC.

The results of daily auctions for available transmission capacity on each of ČEPS interconnectors can be found in the Damas ePortal section accessible to the public, under Overview of Auction Results.

Users of the Damas ePortal

Damas ePortal is currently used by ČEPS employees and the individual users of services provided by ČEPS trading partner companies, namely:

  • users of available transmission capacity for electricity imports, exports and transits who has signed the “Agreement on Accepting the Commercial Terms and Conditions for Cross-Border Electricity Transmission”.

Damas ePortal administrator allocates to each ČEPS trading partner company a set of certain user rights depending on the terms of its Agreement with ČEPS.
