The Transmission services are a fundamental activity of ČEPS, a.s. the transmission system operator. Transmission services consist of securing electricity transmission from the place of generation to the place of consumption – inner system transmission and to/from abroad - cross border transmission.

The System services are an activity executed by ČEPS with the aim to secure operability, the reliable operation of the Czech power system, fulfilling conditions of synchronous interconnection with neighbouring transmission systems, further securing synchronous operations and restoration at blackouts in the Czech power system.

• The maintaining of power balance in real time
• The system restoration
• The dispatching control

Ancillary services are means for system services realization:

• Primary frequency control
• The load frequency control (Secondary power control}
• Tertiary power control
• The quick starting reserve (available within 10 and 30 minutes)
• The operating reserve
• The load shedding
• Secondary voltage and reactive power control
• The reduction of the generation output power (available within 30 minutes)
• The island operation ability
• The black start ability
