In accordance with Section 5, par. 1(g) of the Regulation No. 51/2006 Coll., as amended, ČEPS has updated the balance limit for Czech Republic’s energy system, or else for the consumption points of distribution grid operators.
The following had to be taken into account:
- New possibilities of manageability of resources pursuant to Section 26, paragraph 5 of the Energy Act
- Still existing reservation for wind power plants and photovoltaic power plants, but also for other renewable resources
- Experience from the operation of renewable resources in 2011
- Transit flows via Czech Republic’s power grid
- Development of consumption in the Czech Republic
- Development of resource base in the Czech Republic and surrounding countries
- Current state of related legislation
Up to 65 MW of renewable resources with variable generation (photovoltaic power plants and wind power plants) may be connected to Czech Republic´ s power grid. This situation has been taken into account in connection agreements entered into by the operators of the distribution and transmission system.
In connection with the forthcoming amendment of the Act on Supported Energy Resources it is expected that the output still reserved for photovoltaic power plants will be cancelled; it is probable that the possibility of connection of further photovoltaic power plants and wind power plants will further be extended.
