Common grid model

The goal of the COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2015/1222 from July 24, 2015 ("Regulation 2015/1222") is the coordination and harmonisation of capacity calculation and capacity allocation in the day-ahead and intraday cross-border markets. For achieving these goals, it is necessary for all transmission system operators (TSOs) to use a Common Grid Model. This model can only be established using a common methodology for all TSOs. At the same time, this model can be only made when all TSOs have access to the generation and load data that are an integral part of the model.

You can find more information on the Common Grid Model at the ENTSO-E website.

Generation and Load Data Provision Methodology

According to Article 16 of Regulation 2015/1222, all TSOs jointly drafted a proposal of a uniform generation and load data provision methodology required for the establishment of a Common Grid Model. The joint proposal was based on Article 12 of Regulation 2015/1222 and publicly discussed between February 4 and March 4, 2016. The joint proposal has been forwarded to the approval procedure of the Energy Regulatory Office (ref. No. 06548-6/2016-ERU), which approved it on November 22, 2016.
