Transmission services make up the core business activity of ČEPS, the Czech Transmission System Operator. These services ensure electricity transfer from generators to areas of electricity consumption both within the Czech Republic (domestic transfer) and to/from other countries (cross-border transfer).
ČEPS is the sole holder of an electricity transmission licence for the Czech Republic under the Energy Act (Act 458/2000, as amended) and, based on transmission services agreements, provides electricity transfer, controls power flows across the Czech transmission system whilst both respecting electricity exchange schedules agreed with neighbouring transmission system operators and cooperating in full with distribution system operators (DSOs).
